Whilst the majority of my work is within the ski industry I do also get called upon from time to time to shoot other sports and sporting events for various media outlets.  This month saw the FIBT World Cup Bobsleigh and Skeleton come to the Whistler Sliding Center, the world’s fastest bob track.  I was asked to shoot the event for the local news photo agency WPNN.org where all of these images (and more) are available for editorial usage.

I thought I’d put some of my favorite shots up for you guys to check out and I have included camera setting for each shot.  It was all shot on my Canon 1dMKIV and mostly my Canon Canon 300mm f2.8 L IS .  Flash would distract the athletes too much so its all shot using some VERY high iso settings under the halogen floodlights that are at the track.  In many cases it was also snowing heavily so it was quite a challenge this one!  I’m pleased with the images though and mightily impressed with the MKIV’s high iso capabilities.
